Melissa Arnette Elliot was born on July 1, 1971 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She is a versatile woman who won the Grammy awards for five times in her career. She is an American rapper, singer, record producer and a songwriter. Her talents can be guessed from the fact that she is the sole rapper to have one double platinum albums and six platinum albums certified by the RIAA. She is credited for some extraordinary productions and lyric writings along with her co-producer Timbaland. She also wrote and produced songs for Aaliyah, Monica, Ciara, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.
Elliott and Timbaland worked in collaboration to create songs for SWV and 702(Steelo and the remix). The most notable of the production duo's work features track creation for Aaliyah. Composing for Aaliyah includes the composition of nine tracks for Aaliyah's album "One In A Million" in the year 1996. Elliott also gave background vocals and guest raps to their composed tracks. Some of such tracks where Elliott worked with Timbaland are "If Your Girl Only Knew", "One In A Million" and "Hot Like Fire" and "4 Page Letter".
Missy Elliott is such a great singer that she continues to mesmerize her fans with her singing and continues to reinvent the definition of hip-hop. Likewise her new album, "Miss E…So Addictive", scratches dip down to our pre conceived notion about the hip-hop and pop culture in the world. She and Tweet did their hit album "Southern Hummingbird" together. The collaborative production of Tweet, Timbaland and Elliott called "Sound' showed the world of music a new direction and are labeled "soul-driven" and "mellow". Her second album "It's Me Again" is reputed for the merging of the old and new school attitude of hip-hop music under the production of Elliott and Timbaland.
