Mannie Fresh was born with name Byron Thomason March 20, 1974; however, his career with music got him quite a few other identities; those are Freshly Snipes and Mannie Glover. He is the former producer of New Orleans-based record label, "Cash Money Records". However, Fresh does not work much outside his own label of Cash Records. He puts more emphasis on the in-house artists of the Cash Money and produces their records. Some of his hit productions are "Back That Azz Up" (Juvenile), "The Block Is Hot" (Lil' Wayne) and "Bling Bling" (B.G).
Mannie's debut in the world of music was as a member of the New Orleans first hip-hop crew in the year 1984. This brought him to the attention of famous rapper Gregory D. Mannie later in the year 1987, produced an album for Gregory on D&D records featuring the album "Throwdown". Gregory and Mannie later, in collaboration produced "D Rules The Nation on Yo! Records, in the year 1989. Although this album had Miami Bass, they strive to create some style that would be new to the duo's creation. Although, later this duo did not work together for long, they are together considered as the earliest pioneers of Bounce Music.
During the period from 1998 to 2001, cash Money Records saw its golden days under Mannie Fresh and could churn out many platinum and multiplatinum record albums with a huge yearly turnover. However, due to certain controversies, Cash Records suffered heavy loses and the worst time came for the label when few of the stars of Cash Money left the album.

Rapper Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter, was taken into custody after being arrested in the early monring on January 22, 2008.
While state officials and DEA were both involved in the arrest, the cash money records artist was charged with three felony charges, including posession of drug and paraphanalia, possession of narcotics, and possession of dangerous drugs.
The police allegedly discovered 29 grams of cocaine, 105 grams of marijuana, and 41 grams of ecstasy on Lil Wayne's tour bus as they stopped at a state checkpoint.
After being released on a $10,000 bail, Wayne rushed to Richmond, Virginia to make a scheduled show. Fans were already waiting for hours when he entered the stage. But the rapper made it up to them by performing for three hours.
Lil Wayne explained to fans, "A junkie can't do what the f*** I do."
